The post season chances for the Siuslaw Vikings just got slimmer… The North Bend Bulldogs wrested control of the game last night away from Siuslaw early in the 3rd quarter. They surged to a 59 – 45 Far West boys victory. Jake Thompson had 19 points, Sam Johnson ten and the Vikings fell into a tie for fourth place with South Umpqua at 4-and-5. Those teams will meet Friday in Florence. In other Far West games, Brookings-Harbor edged South Umpqua 60 -57; Sutherlin ran past the Douglas Trojans 73 – 25.

Ashlee Cole had 14 points and 11 rebounds last night and the Lady Vikings held off the North Bend Bulldogs for a 40 -35 win. It was Siuslaw’s first conference victory. Free throw shooting made the difference as the Lady Vikings made 9 of 16 in the fourth quarter. Sutherlin remains undefeated on the season… the number two ranked Bulldogs beat Douglas 63 – 34; Brookings-Harbor downed South Umpqua 68 – 37.
The Mapleton Sailors are on the road this evening to Lowell for a boys Mountain West League playoff game against the Devils at seven. The winner will travel to Siletz Thursday. The Lady Sailors will host a playoff game either tomorrow or Friday.
College Basketball Schedule
Pac-12 basketball is on the court this evening as well… #23 Oregon is in Seattle against the Huskies at eight… the pregame show on Coast Radio Sports is set for 7:30. Oregon State is in the Palouse where they’ll take on the Washington State Cougars at seven… the pregame on KCFM is at 6:30.
