One bad inning for the Eugene Emeralds… that’s all it took last night for the Spokane Indians as they blanked the Ems 5-nothing and claimed the rubber match of the five game series at PK Park in Eugene. Spokane scored five runs in the fifth inning on the strength of six hits… two of them home runs.
The loss drops Eugene to fourth place in the four-team South Division at 9-and-9… but that record would be enough to hold a one-game lead if they were in the North.
The Emeralds head out on the road today, starting a three game series in Boise… they’ll be in Everett, Washington beginning Friday for the first of five.
