Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – Ian Kinsler scored the go-ahead run on Danny Farquar’s balk in the 10th inning, handing the Texas Rangers a 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners last night. Kinsler started the winning rally with a one-out single against Farquar for his fourth hit. Kinsler advanced on Adrian Beltre’s single, and then swiped third. After A.J. Pierzynski fouled out to third, home plate umpire C.B. Bucknor called a balk on Farquar with Alex Rios at the plate, allowing Kinsler to come home.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Tina Thompson had 27 points and 13 rebounds to help the veteran Seattle Storm hold off the San Antonio Silver Stars 72-71 last night. Camille Little had 14 points and Tanisha Wright added 11 for Seattle, which won the season series against San Antonio to claim a possible tiebreaker if the teams close the season with identical records. Shenise Johnson had 16 points for the Stars, including a 3-pointer, stole the inbounds pass from Thompson and fed Perkins for a 3 that made it 72-71 with 1.7 seconds left.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Receiver Josh Huff hopes to remake his legacy in his final season at Oregon. Huff has had a rocky career for the Ducks. He’s been dogged by injuries. He’s been in an offense that puts more emphasis on the run than the pass. And he still worries that an arrest that resulted in a full acquittal may have nonetheless tarnished his reputation. But he says everything he’s gone through has made him stronger and he’s ready to make a statement this season, which opens Saturday against Nicholls State.
