Viking Volleyball Hangs the Hornets

Siuslaw held off Henley last night, fighting back from a third game loss, to down the Hornets 3-games-to-one to advance to the OSAA 4A volleyball playoffs.  The Vikings were near-perfect at the service line, putting 96 percent in play.

Ashlee Cole led with 17 kills; Katrina Greenlief added ten more from the outside.  Hannah Bartlett had 14 digs; Kylie Brandt added nine more; and Brittany Long had 14 assists.

The Vikings advance to the opening round of the playoffs Saturday in La Grande against the Tigers.

The Reedsport Braves will open in the 2A playoffs, also Saturday, but they will be at home against Regis.  The Braves fell to Marshfield last night at home 3-nothing in a non-league contest.
