Athlete of the Week; All Far West Volleyball

Siuslaw Football standout Christian Jakobsen is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week.  The Viking running back sparked a third quarter comeback attempt in last week’s playoff loss to Gladstone, carrying the ball ten times for 70-yards.

Honorable Mention goes to Siuslaw outside hitter Brittany Long.  The freshman was named this week to the All Far West first volleyball team.

In addition to Long’s first team listing, five other Siuslaw Vikings were honored this week by Far West Volleyball coaches.  Freshman Elyssa Rose and Sophomore Hannah Bartlett were named to the 2^nd team.  Seniors Ashlee Cole, Kylie Brandt and Katrina Greenlief received Honorable Mention.
