PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Nicolas Batum had 14 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 14 assists for his fourth career triple-double and the Portland Trail Blazers handed the Orlando Magic their fifth straight loss with a 110-94 victory last night. The Blazers, who came in having loss four of their last six, avoided a season-high three-game losing streak.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Josh Scott scored eight of his 19 points in overtime as No. 15 Colorado held off Washington State 71-70 last night. Askia Booker added 18 points for Colorado (14-2, 3-0 Pac-12), which has tied the second-best start in program history. Dexter Kernich-Drew scored a career-high 24 points to lead Washington State (7-8, 0-3).

UNDATED (AP) – Andrew Andrews scored 12 of his 19 points in the final nine minutes, and Washington held on in the final seconds for a 59-57 win over Utah last night in the Huskies conference home opener. Coming off a split in the desert, Washington could not shake the Utes (12-3, 1-2 Pac-12) until the final seconds when Delon Wright’s desperation attempt 3-pointer from the corner was off the mark.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Cassandra Brown scored 18 points and twice nailed back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the second half, each time pushing Portland into double-digit leads as the Pilots stunned 24th-ranked and unbeaten San Diego 72-51 last night. San Diego’s Felicia Wijenberg (a career-high 28 points) scored seven in a 9-0 run to get to 50-42.
