Ducks Down The Cougs
Oregon capitalized on three Washington State errors in the first inning yesterday to score four runs; then cruised to an eventual 11-1 Pac-12 victory in Eugene.
One of the only flaws in the game for the Ducks came when relief pitcher Jack Karraker was stretching in the bullpen, in preparation for his scheduled eighth inning appearance. A teammate stepped on his finger, cutting it. Coach George Horton said they initially couldn’t stop the bleeding. But, he added, it likely wouldn’t need stitches.
The Ducks and the Cougars continue their three game series today and tomorrow.
Prep Sports
Prep softball and baseball scheduled today for the Siuslaw Vikings has been cancelled. Both the boys and girls had been scheduled for non-league matchups. It’s not clear if they’ll be rescheduled.
Athletes on the Siuslaw Track and Field team will be in completion this weekend at the Oregon Relays at Hayward Field in Eugene.
