Ducks Dominate ‘Cats in Pac-12 Championship
Number two Oregon staked a claim on a College Football Playoff berth Friday night with a 51-13 romp over eighth ranked Arizona in the Pac-12 football championship game. Marcus Mariota boosted his credentials for the Heisman Trophy with 303 yards passing and two touchdowns; plus he ran for a career high three scores.
CFP has Oregon smelling like roses…
Oregon is Rose Bowl Bound… the CFP selection committee matched the number two ranked Ducks with #3 Florida State for one of two football semi-finals on New Year’s Day. Number one Alabama and Ohio State will meet in the Sugar Bowl. The winners of the two games will meet in Arlington, Texas, January 12th for the national championship.

Oregon State rallied to beat the Portland Pilots 65-58 in overtime Saturday night at the Chiles Center in Portland.
Stefan Moody led five Mississippi scorers in double-figures with 22 points and Ole-Miss edged Oregon 79-73 yesterday afternoon in Eugene.

Mapleton varsity beat the Siuslaw JV 50-40 Friday night.
In Florence Saturday evening, the Siuslaw Vikings fell to Phoenix 29-28 in overtime. Preston Mitchell led the Vikings with 12 points before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. In the girls’ game, the Lady Vikings trailed by three at the half, but the Pirates pulled away in the second half for a 43-27 victory.
