SAN DIEGO (AP) – Kyle Wiltjer scored 10 of his 15 points in the first half and No. 7 Gonzaga built a big enough lead to withstand a 7-minute scoring drought in the second half and beat San Diego 60-48 last night. Gonzaga (13-1, 2-0 West Coast Conference) won for the sixth time since its only loss, a 66-63 overtime defeat at Arizona on Dec. 6. A year ago, the Toreros pulled off a 69-66 home upset of the Zags.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Dwayne Benjamin scored 18 points and Joseph Young hit an insurance 3-pointer late in overtime to lead Oregon to a 69-67 victory over UC Irvine last night. Dillon Brooks added 15 points and Elgin Cook had 14 for the Ducks (10-3), who closed out their nonconference schedule with their second straight overtime win.

PROVO, Utah (AP) – Tyler Haws, Kyle Collinsworth and Anson Winder combined to score 67 points as BYU knocked off Portland 97-88 in a West Coast Conference game last night. The Cougars (11-4) rebounded from a loss to Gonzaga in the WCC opener Saturday, evening their conference record at 1-1.

SEATTLE (AP) – Kelsey Plum scored 20 of her 32 points in the first half, Talia Walton added a season-high 21 and Washington picked up its biggest non-conference regular-season win in nearly two decades with a 70-49 victory over No. 5 Texas A&M last night. Washington (11-1) won its 11th straight, the longest winning streak for the Huskies since the 1989-90 season.
