Oregon Falls to Buckeyes in National Championship
Ezekiel Elliott carried the ball 34 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns as Ohio State hammered Oregon 42-20 to win the first College Football Playoff. Oregon forced four turnovers, but the Buckeye Defense was able to bottle up Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota for the win.

Athlete of the week:
Siuslaw Wrestling standout Jose DelaMora is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The sophomore 120 pounder was undefeated at Saturday’s Central Four-Way meet in Independence, going three-and-oh on the mats.
Honorable Mention goes to Junior Cody Wells who picked up only his third career win at 182 pounds at Central.
Basketball Schedule
The Mapleton Sailors had originally been scheduled to host Eddyville this evening at home, but that game has been cancelled due to a lack of players at Mapleton. It’s still not clear whether or not the game will be rescheduled, or if the Sailors will be forced to forfeit.
