Ducks jump to early lead, hold on
The Oregon Ducks jumped on the Portland Pilots with two runs in the first inning, then added three more in the sixth before holding off a late Pilots rally for a 5-2 win in Portland yesterday.
The win gives the Ducks a 3-1 edge in the two teams’ four-game non-league series on the season.
Oregon returns to Pac-12 play tomorrow when they travel to Los Angeles where they’ll take on Number ten USC in a three game series beginning Friday.
Oregon State will be at home this weekend against Arizona.
On the track this afternoon… the Mapleton Sailors are in Oakland for a four-way meet that includes the Oakers, Monroe and Yoncalla.
