Prep athletes to be honored
11 prep athletes from Siuslaw and Mapleton High Schools are the finalists for the Sports Club Athletes of the Year. For the girls it is Hannah Bartlett, Celie Mans, Carissa Oliver, Elyssa Rose, Mikaela Siegel and Destinie Tatum. The boys include Seth Campbell, Joseph Dotson, Tucker Ford, Chris Free and Billy Jones. They and 30 other student athletes will be honored tomorrow night during the “Night of Athletic Excellence” at Siuslaw High School. The evening includes dinner catered by the Siuslaw Culinary Arts program and the Leadership Class. Doors open at 6:30, it’s open to the public and tickets are $10.
College Women’s World Series
The Women’s softball World Series gets underway today in Oklahoma City. Number two seed Oregon will face number seven seed UCLA at 6:30.
NCAA Baseball Regionals
The Oregon baseball team opens tomorrow morning at 11 in the Springfield, Missouri regional when they take on Iowa. Oregon State is in the Dallas, Texas regional. They’ll face the Texas Longhorns at 11:30. That game will air on KCFM.
