Sports11 June 2015

Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports:

The NCAA Track and Field Championships got underway yesterday at Hayward Field in Eugene. After six of 21 events for the men, Oregon led scoring with 34 points. The Ducks went one-two in the ten-thousand with Edward Cheserek winning the title in 28-minutes; 58.92-seconds. Eric Jenkins was only 21-one-hundredths of a second behind him.

Sam Crouser won the javelin for the Ducks and Hammer thrower Greg Skipper helped out in his event. Skipper had been picked to finish in fourth place, but wound up in third, earning a few extra points for his team.

Women’s competition got underway today at Hayward; the men return to action tomorrow and the women will wrap up on Saturday.
