SEATTLE (AP) – Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano has undergone surgery to repair core muscle injuries and is expected to be OK for spring training. The recovery time is expected to be six weeks.

NEW YORK (AP) – Clayton Kershaw ended his five-game postseason skid with seven brilliant innings while pitching on three days’ rest and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Mets 3-1 last night to force a deciding Game 5 in the NL Division series. The series shifts back to Dodger Stadium tomorrow.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly returned to practice for the first time since suffering a concussion in the Carolina’s season-opening win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
