EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Tyler Dorsey scored a season-high 25 points and Elgin Cook had 19 as Oregon finished nonconference play with an 88-60 victory over Western Oregon last night. Dylan Brooks added 13 points for the Ducks (11-2), who needed a 20-5 run to take control early in the second half after the Wolves (9-1) had tied the score at 40-40. Cook had 11 points during the run. Alex Roth led Western Oregon, a Division II team, with 13 points.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Donivine Stewart scored a season-high 17 points and made key 3-pointers in the second half to help Portland State pull away and beat Cal State Fullerton 89-82 last night and snap a five-game losing streak. Stewart was 6 of 8 from the field with three 3-pointers and five assists. Isaiah Pineiro scored 21 points to lead Portland State (4-7).

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Kelsey Plum made five 3-pointers and scored 33 points to help Washington beat rival Washington State 79-64 last night in a Pac-12 opener. The Huskies are 34-5 all-time in Pullman, including an 83-43 victory last season. Mariah Cooks led Washington State (9-3) with a career-high 20 points.

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Washington State coach Mike Leach, fresh off the team’s best season in more than a decade, had his contract extended for another year and now is signed through the 2020 season. Athletic director Bill Moos also announced yesterday that defensive coordinator Alex Grinch and defensive line coach Joe Salave’a have signed multi-year contracts to remain part of Leach’s staff. Leach guided the Cougars to a 9-4 record this season, including a victory in the Sun Bowl, Washington State’s first bowl win since the 2003 campaign. The Cougars’ nine wins were the most since 2003.
