Oregon State led wire-to-wire yesterday afternoon, downing Oregon 70-57 in a Pac-12 Conference opener in Corvallis.
Tres (trace) Tinkle scored 19 points to lead the Beavers; Olaf Shaftenaar had 13 points and a career high 8 rebounds. Gary Payton II added 12 points and six assists for the 10-and-two Beavers.
Chris Boucher (boo-shay) led the 11-and-3 Ducks with 14 points.
Horned Frogs win in battle of the backup quarterbacks
Bram Kohlhausen’s eight-yard touchdown run in the third overtime Saturday night in San Antonio carried number 11 TCU to a wild 47-41 victory over Number 15 Oregon in the Alamo Bowl.
The Horned Frogs’ 31-point comeback in the second half tied the record for a bowl game, matching Texas Tech in the 2006 Insight Bowl against Minnesota.
