Dylan Jennings is number one seed at 220 pounds
Four Viking wrestlers will compete in this weekend’s OSAA State Finals. Dylan Jennings went into the Skyline-Far West Regional meet as the number one seed last week and came out with the 220 pound title. Following weekend competition, the Viking Senior moved up to the number one seed at this weekend’s OSAA 4A state meet in Portland.
Talamoa (Andrew) Tupua was second at 152. He’ll be the number six seed at that weight class. Richard Huff finished third at 113; and Murray Bingham was fourth at 126; both go into the OSAA finals unseeded.
Coach Neil Wartnik said the Vikings missed fourth place by just one point, finishing fifth out of the 12 teams on the mats. They were the second highest finishing Far West Team behind Marshfield. The Pirates took second as a team just behind tournament champion and host Henley High School.
