Oregon takes solo lead in Pac-12 Men’s

Number 13 Oregon moved back into sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 last night with a 76-62 win over Washington State at Matthew Knight Arena. It was Oregon’s 24th straight win at home.

Chris Boucher (BOO-shay) led with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Ducks who are alone at the top after Number 9 Arizona lost to Colorado to give up their share of the lead. Oregon will host Washington Sunday afternoon with an outright shot at the title… and a chance to go undefeated at home.

Beavers beat buzzer to down Huskies

In Corvallis, Stevie Thompson Jr. hit a game-winning 3-pointer just before the buzzer to lift Oregon State to an 82-81 win over Washington. Thompson went the length of the court with 3.3 seconds remaining and heaved up a contested shot at the three-point line. He wound up with a team-leading 18 points. Drew Eubanks added 17 points with 13 rebounds; and Gary Payton II had 15 points, ten rebounds and five steals.   The Beavers will host Washington State Saturday afternoon.

College baseball this afternoon…

Drew Rasmussen will get the start for the Beavers as they take on Kansas State in the second Surprise, Arizona tournament. Oregon will begin a four game series at home against Illinois State at six this evening.

OSAA Wrestling Finals begin Friday

Four Siuslaw Vikings will be on the mats in Portland this weekend for the OSAA State Wrestling Championships at Memorial Coliseum. Dylan Jennings is the number one seed at the 4A level in the 220 pound weight class. He’s joined by Talamoa Tupua, the number six at 152. Ricky Huff and Murray Bingham are unseeded at 113 and 126 respectively.
