Softball slugger selected
Viking softball standout Claire Waggoner is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The junior first baseman was four-for-five at the plate with a double and two stolen bases in the Lady Vikings’ win over Sutherlin last week. Honorable Mention is given to pitcher Heidi Jones who was four-for-six at the plate and pitched two wins last week, giving up a total of six hits and striking out five in the win over Sutherlin.
The Lady Vikings are on the diamond again today in Tillamook for a non-league game against the Cheesemakers.
