Indians overcome slow start
The Spokane Indians jumped to a seven run lead in the fifth inning last night, and then barely held on for an 11-9 Northwest League Victory at PK Park over Eugene.
Emeralds starter Dylan Cease, in only his second outing since undergoing Tommy John surgery a year ago, reached his pitch count after four innings and left the game with a 2-1 lead. Enrique De Los Rio gave up four earned runs on four walks and one hit in two-thirds inning to take the loss, his second of the season. A pair of late game rallies in the eighth and ninth fell short. The two teams meet again tonight in Eugene for game two of the five game series that runs through Monday.
