Eugene beats Everett for league crown
The long wait is over. 36 years after they last shared a Northwest League Title in 1980, the Eugene Emeralds have won it all. They held off the Everett Aqua Sox last night at PK Park for a 2-1 win and their first outright league title since 1975.

The Siuslaw Vikings started Far West League play with a five-set win over the visiting South Umpqua Lancers. The Vikings won the first set, then dropped the next two before ousting the Lancers 25-20 and 15-3 to close out the match. The Vikings will be in Coos Bay tomorrow for a match against Marshfield.
