Vikings win final FB game

Vikings win final; Mapleton falls at home

The Siuslaw Vikings capped their football season with a 14-13 homecoming win over the Brookings-Harbor Bruins Friday night.  All the scoring was done in the first half as heavy rains blanketed Hans Petersen Field.  Siuslaw ended 2-6 overall with a 1-4 Far West League Record.

The Mapleton Sailors have one more game… they fell to Triangle Lake Friday night in Mapleton 54-nothing.  That sets up a Mountain West League playoff this coming Friday against the Lowell Devils in Lowell.

On the college gridiron Friday night, Cal’s Matt Anderson kicked a 28-yard field goal in the second overtime and Jordan Kunaszyk sealed the victory with an interception that game the Golden Bears a 52-49 victory over Oregon.

In Seattle, the #5 Washington Huskies sealed the deal with a 41-17 victory over Oregon State Saturday evening.  The Huskies used a big first half to roll past the Beavers.
