Former Hilltopper tabbed to lead Ducks
Willie Taggert says he “can’t wait to get started”. The 40-year old Taggert stepped down yesterday after four years as the football coach at the University of South Florida to accept the same position at Oregon.
Taggert led the Bulls to an 18-7 record over the past two years… they were 10-2 this year. He also spent three years at his alma mater, Western Kentucky, where he kick-started a program that was struggled. Before that he was an assistant coach under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford.
He will take over the Ducks following a 4-8 season and the firing of four year head coach Mark Helfrich.
