BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Napheesa Collier scored 28 points, Gabby Williams had 25 and UConn advanced to its 10th consecutive Final Four with a 90-52 victory against Oregon on Monday night. Top-seeded UConn (36-0) will face Mississippi State on Friday night in Dallas in the national semifinals. The win was the Huskies’ 111th consecutive victory and moved coach Geno Auriemma past Pat Summitt for the most NCAA Tournament victories. Auriemma now has 113 and counting.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks continue to stockpile linebackers, bringing back Dewey McDonald and signing free agent Terence Garvin. The signings were listed on the NFL transaction report Monday. McDonald was an exclusive rights free agent who was a special teams standout last season for the Seahawks. McDonald appeared in a career-high 14 regular-season games and was second on the team in special teams tackles.
DALLAS (AP) — Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin has been arrested in Dallas after police say he was in a vehicle that hit seven people on a sidewalk. Jail records show the former TCU quarterback was booked early Monday on misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana. Bond was $500.
SEATTLE (AP) — Nathan Hale star Michael Porter Jr., was a unanimous choice as The Associated Press Washington boys’ state player of the year. The latest honor was announced for Porter on Monday after voting conducted by sports writers and editor from around the state. Porter was also voted the Class 3A player of the year.
NEW YORK (AP) — Kelsey Plum is a unanimous choice to The Associated Press women’s basketball All-America team. Washington’s star guard broke the NCAA career all-time scoring record and became the first player from the school to earn first-team honors Monday.
