The Eugene Emeralds scattered 11 hits over 9 innings last night on the road against the Hillsboro Hops. Scoring runs in the first, fifth and 8th innings. Hillsboro struck back in the sixth with two runs but it was all they could muster as the Emeralds took the game 3-2. Jose Albertos pitched 5 stron innings for the Ems striking out 7 along the way and surrendering only two hits. Keegan Thompson was credited with the win though after giving up 2 runs to the hops and striking out 3. For the Ems, Austin Filiere got three hits as Designated Hitter and Left Fielder, Chris Carrier was 3 for 4 from the plate. The series continues this evening at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro at 7:05
