Vikings Head to Cascade

Siuslaw Viking Volleyballers finished the season ranked 22nd  overall and that means they are headed for the playoffs.  Viking Coach Jonathan Hornung says the date and time has not been set, but they will travel to Cascade to face the #12 Cougars.  The match will be this Saturday in Turner at 4 p.m.

Ducks Work to Find Depth

Injuries and inexperience continue to plague the Ducks as they move into the halfway point of their season.  Offensive line coach, Mario Cristobal says he has been depending on the front line for most of the reps so far and continues to work on rotating players in to give relief, but the depth is just not there for them at this time.  He continues to work with younger lineman preparing them for games and says he is seeing some progress as they get ready to take on UCLA this Saturday.  Starting quarterback Brandon Burmeister was looking in good in practice, but coach Willie Taggart said that burmeister was looking sharp in last week’s practice and yet had a difficult time with Stanford.  Taggart says they are continuing to work on getting practice performance onto the field.  This Saturday’s game against UCLA is at 1pm.  Pregame on KCST begins at 11:30.

The Beavers are at home this week preparing for Stanford.  The Cardinals come into Reser Stadium for a 6pm game which airs on KCFM beginning at 5 oclock.
