Viking Bowler Leads Team; Huff Dominates; The Weekend in Hoops

Patrick Hill helped the Viking bowling team to a second place finish yesterday.  Hill had 30 strikes and 15 spares out of 48 total frames in 24 games of qualifying , 4 strikes in four frames in the semifinals and 3 strikes out of four frames in the finals.

Huff Takes Weight Class

Viking Grapplers had 3 top finishers in the Bend Invitational over the weekend.  Senior Richard Huff took first place in the 126 weight division going 3-0 with two pins and a major decision.  sophomore Matthew Horillo had a second place finish in the 285 pound category and junior Riley Jennings scored a third place finish.  The Vikings finished 7th overall in the 11 team tournament.

Weekend Hoop Results

On Friday night at the Far West Skyline crossover tournament the Siuslaw Vikings boys edged Klamath Union 47-43. The Viking Girls were edged out 34-33 by Phoenix.

 

On Saturday, North Valley pulled out ahead of Siuslaw in the boy’s match 56-40.  And the Viking Girls managed only 18 points against North Valley as they fell 36 -18

 

At Friday night’s civil war battle in Corvallis the Beavers defeated the Ducks 76-64

 

The lady Ducks had a successful tour of California over the weekend, first defeating the USC Trojans 70-66 on Friday and then taking down #14 UCLA 70-61 on Sunday.

 

The Lady Beavers were not so fortunate in Cali losing a pair of games.  The Beavers lost first to UCLA 84-49 on Friday and USC defeated OSU on Sunday 65-61.
