Ducks and Beavers Advance
The Oregon Ducks made it past the first round of the PAC 12 tournament in nail biting fashion. The Ducks went into the locker at half time trailing by 7 and the Ducks didn’t overcome that until 59.7 seconds left in the game. The Ducks eked ahead 51-50 for their first lead of the night. Troy Brown Jr. dunked the ball making it a 3 point lead but a last second 3-pointer by the Cougars Malachi Flynn tied the game sending it into overtime. With a 2 point lead in the final seconds of overtime Kenny Wooten blocked States last two attempts to tie the game and the Ducks advance in the tournament 64-62. The Ducks meet Utah this evening. The game will air on KCST. Tip-off is at 8:45.
The Beavers also advance in the PAC 12 tournament after defeating the Huskies last night in Vegas. It too was an overtime event. Tres Tinkle posted his 8th double/double of the season and 12th career 12 points and 10 rebounds. The huskies pulled within two with 3.1 seconds left but a foul took the game out of reach. Final score 69-66. The Beavers take on USC this evening on KCFM. Pre-game is at 5:30 and tip-off is at 6pm.
