Mapleton Has Good Showing At Cinder Classic
Mapleton freshman JJ Neece took third place in the 100 meters at the Cinder Classic yesterday at Crow High School. He finished with a time of 12.67 seconds. Freshman Robert Burnett finished second in the 3000 meters with a personal record of 15:27.00. Freshman Phillip Burnett took first place in the 110 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 22:00. And third place in the 300 meter hurdles with another personal best time of 1:00.84. mapleton also took third in the boys 4 x100 relay. JJ Neece also finished first in the Mens Varsity High Jump with a personal record of
5-04.00. and second place in the triple jump with 34-02.00.
On the ladies side freshman Emily Stevens took 2nd place in the 100 meters with a time of 15.42 and sophomore Trinity Holmes took 2nd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.67. Freshman Jozzy Roby finished second in the 1500 meters with a time of 7:56.94. Stevens also finished first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.92 and third in the long jump with a distance of 11ft. 10 inches.

Saturday Siuslaw Track and field will be at the Prefontaine Rotary Invitational in Marshfield. First event will be at 10am.
Prep Baseball this afternoon pits Siuslaw against Marshfield. A baseball double header will play out in Florence at Jigg’s Dodson Field. Pregame on Coast Radio Sports is at 2:45, first pitch in game one is at 3 o’clock on KCST.
Girls Softball pits Siuslaw against the Pirates of Marshfield in a double header play in Coos Bay at 3 o’clock.
College Lineup
Collegiate Baseball today, begins with non league play for the Oregon State Beavers are at Missouri State this morning at 9 o’clock Pacific time, game two is later this afternoon. It’s a three game series, concluding Saturday.
Oregon is in Seattle to take on Washington’s Huskies for the first of three Pac Twelve games this weekend. There series concludes Sunday.
