Ems Top First Half With a Win
The Eugene Emeralds are looking to the second half of the season to try and make improvements. The team has struggled in the first half ending with a 14 and 24 record, but as they closed out the first half last night against the Tri-City Dust Devils they did so with a barrage of hits. 3 doubles and a single in the first inning last night gave the Ems a 5 – Nothing lead and set the pace for the evening. Tri-City managed one run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth but it was all the runs they could generate on the evening. Eury Ramos went 4 innings on the night with 4 hits and one run allowed and gets his first win of the season. Final score was 9-1. The Ems now return home this evening for a 3 game series against the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes. First pitch is at 7:05.
