The Eugene Emeralds were in Tri-City last night to start a three game series against the Dust Devils. Both teams put on a hitting clinic with 12 hits apiece. Eugene struck first in the second inning with one run but the Dust Devils answered back 5 runs in the bottom of the second. Both teams added 2 runs in the third and fifth innings. The Ems were lagging 9-5 until the seventh inning where they tied it up at 9 with a four run inning. The Ems and Dust Devils went into extra innings with the Dust Devils pulling out the win in the bottom of the tenth. Final score 10-9. Game two of the series will be played this evening at Gesa Stadium with first pitch at 7:05
