Ems Drop 3 Straight; Runners Prepare at Steens Mountain

Old Town from Docks

Ems Drop 3 Straight

After putting 2 wins on the board against the Hillsboro Hops at home, the Eugene Emeralds dropped three straight.  Friday night at home the Hops got it all started in the first with a lead off home run by Jorge Barrosa.  The Hops added four more runs to take a 5 nothing lead.  Eugene battled back with 2 – 2 run innings in the 4th and 5th, but that would be all the scoring on the evening and the Ems drop the game at home 5-4.  Saturday and Sunday the venue changed to Hillsboro as the 2 teams continued their 6 game series.  Hillsboro scored 2 runs in the first and that would be all they needed at the Ems managed a solo home run in the third for their only run on the night.  Final 2-1.  Last night it was Eugene that got on the board first with runs in the first and fourth innings.  Zach Mort pitched 6 strong innings for the Ems, but got into trouble in the 7th when he allowed two runs on a Kristian Robinson homer to tie the game.  It was enough to start the Hops engines and they continued in the 8th inning.  Robinson hit another solo shot and then 2 more runs scored for a 5-2 win.  The Ems finish up tonight in Hillsboro.  First pitch is at 7:05.
