Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate freshman harrier Sam Ulrich who placed 5th in last week’s Sky-Em District Championships. Sam’s personal record time of 16:35.90 was instrumental in Siuslaw’s 1 point, First place finish in the Sky-Em league.
Honorable mention also goes to a Siuslaw runner. Sophomore Rylee Colton finished in 5th place in the woman’s 5000 meter run with a time of 19:32.8 to help lift the girls to a one point first place finish.
State Championships – Cross Country
Viking Cross Country will compete in the state championships this Saturday at Lane Community College in Eugene beginning at 11:45.
Collegiate Basketball
Collegiate Men’s Basketball opens this evening. The Oregon Ducks are at home hosting the Fresno State Bulldogs at 6 o’clock at Matthew Knight Arena. Pregame on KCST is at 5:30.
Oregon State Takes on Cal State Northridge in their season opener at Gill Coliseum. pregame on KCFM is at 7:30 tip off between the Beavers and the Matadors is at 8 o’clock.
