Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Hunter Petterson as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hunter took a first place finish in Saturday’s Sutherlin Wrestliing Classic in the 126 pound weight class. Defeating his first two opponents by fall and won by decision over Coquilles Tony Florez in the championship match.
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Brody Terry who scored 18 points in Siuslaw’s win over Mazama on Saturday.
Mapleton Hoops Tonight
Mountain West League Basketball tonight has Mapleton on the boards at McKenzie High School in double header play. Tonight’s games will air over Coast Radio Sports with a pregame schedule for 5:15, the girls game tips off at 5:30, with the boys game to follow at 7 o’clock on KCST.
