Marist Over Vikings
The Siuslaw Vikings were at Marist Catholic on Friday evening where the Viking Boys were held to just 37 points. Brody Terry scored 14 for the Viks. The Viking boys are at 3-4 in league play and in fourth place in the Sky-Em League after the 37-64 loss.
The Viking Girls came a little closer against Marist down only 4 points at the half. They eventually lost by 8 – 36-44. Mia Collins had 14 points on the night with 6 rebounds.
2 Lady Wrestlers Head to State
Viking Wrestlers Hayden Muller and Bailey Overton are headed to state. Muller wrestles in the 135 pound weight class and Overton in the 120 pound weight class. The Championships will be held in Portland on February 28-29.
College Hoops
The Oregon State Beavers won the Civil War Battle on Saturday against the Oregon Ducks. Ethan Thompson led the Beavers in scoring with 15. 4 Beavers were in double figures. Payton Pritchard led the Ducks with 16.
The Lady ducks improve to 22-2 with a win over the Arizona Wildcats on Friday night and a defeat of Arizona State last night tearing into the SunDevils with a 79-48 win. 5 Ducks were in double figures with Sabrina Ionescu leading the way with 19.
The Oregon State Beaver women’s team split a pair against Arizona teams. On Friday they defeated the SunDevils 64-62 but lost last night to the Arizona Wildcats 58-65.
