Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News, and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior girls basketball player Brea Blankenship as this week’s Athlete of the Week. In Friday night’s close game against Elmira Brea scored 17 points and 5 rebounds and was 5 of 6 from the line. Coach Ashley Cole said that Blankenship never gives up on improving her game and her dedication pays off.
Honorable mention goes to junior boy’s basketball player Jacob Foskett whose 13 points against Elmira helped seal a playoff game for the Vikings
Lady Beavers Take Another Loss
The UCLA Bruins handed the Lady Beavers their 3rd straight loss last night in Los Angeles by a score of 83-74. Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum both had 19 points in the loss.

The Oregon State Beavers Baseball team is 2 and 2 for the preseason as BYU defeated them on the diamond yesterday in Surprise Arizona 4-3
Ducks on the Diamond
Oregon is on the diamond in Phoenix this afternoon taking on the University of the Grand Canyon in non conference baseball at 1 o’clock.
Closing Out the Sky-Em Season
The Siuslaw Vikings close out the Sky-Em league basketball season with a twin bill tonight against the Junction City Tigers. Pregame from Glen Butler Court at Siuslaw High School is at 5:30, the girls game tips off at 5:45, the boys game follows at 7:15.
