Changing World of Sports
The sports world has come to a virtual, and actual halt as orders to halt all sporting activities with live audiences has become the norm for states. The Governor’s plan to ban events until a vaccine or cure for the virus is found is weighing heavy of athletes and fans alike, but how will this effect Oregon if other schools in other states decide to go back to playing football in the fall? A lot will depend on whether or not school will be allowed to be back in session. Games could potentially be played with fans being able to sit at home and watch. Last season Siuslaw schools entered into an agreement to broadcast football games through the National Federation of State High Schools which allows fans to access live games. It is available at a subscription or per game price, but that could change in the coronavirus world. The governor on Thursday said that all events, sporting and entertainment should cancel through September.
