OSAA Executive Meeting
OSAA met on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming athletic seasons. There is still talk of swapping the spring and fall athletics. It is a popular topic around the state, but the OSAA Executive Board is not interested, at this time, in pursuing that avenue. The OSAA also gave clarification on the new mask requirements for the state. Per the statewide guidance, individuals engaged in an activity that is strenuous, such as physical exercise are not required to wear a mask indoors as long as 6 feet of distance can be maintained. OSAA says schools are also required to monitor athletes for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 prior to workouts and if symptoms or fever exist they must be sent home. This also applies to coaches and support staff.
