Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports Congratulate Viking Junior Camp Lacouture. Camp took First Place in the Pole Vault at Friday’s meet in Cottage Grove clearing 13-0 even. He was also part of the 4×100 relay that finished 3rd and finished 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles.
Honorable Mention goes to Gracie Freudenthal who came back after injury to place second in the 300 meter hurdles with a season record time of 51.55 and finished 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles with a season record time of 17.65
Viking Baseball/Softball
The Siuslaw Vikings will be on the diamond today for both Baseball and softball games against Marist. Both games begin at 5 pm. KCST will cover baseball beginning at 4:45 this afternoon.
Basketball
Siuslaw Basketball is slated to begin on May 18th with the first game being against Pleasant Hill at home. Due to COVID restrictions there will be no attendance for spectators. Coast Radio will cover the game beginning at 7 pm. According to the OSAA posted schedule the Viking girls will play at Pleasant Hill at 6 pm.
