Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate the defensive efforts of Viking football defensive back Isaac Garza. In addition to his receiver duties, with 2 catches for 59 yards, Isaac contributed 8 tackles including a 4th down tackle to stop La Pine and give the ball back to the Vikings.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to a well deserving Camp Lacouture who had 21 carries for 168 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. He was also named player of the game by OSAA.org.
Ducks Advance at Maui Invitational
The Oregon Ducks handily defeated the Chaminade Silverswords in the opening round of the Maui Classic. The Ducks had two players in double figures led by Eric Williams, Jr. with 14 points. The final score was 73-49. The Ducks move to round two to face St. Marys this afternoon beginning at 4:30 on KCST.
The Oregon Duck women were defeated by #23 South Florida 71-62.
