Alamo Bowl Preparation
The Alamo Bowl will not look the same to many Duck fans. The Oregon Ducks are but a shadow of their regular season selves as players and coaches move on. It started with the departure of former Head Coach Mario Cristobal with his announcement that he would be returning to coach at his alma mater Florida, then several players announced that they would be skipping the bowl appearance to prepare for the NFL draft, not wanting to have a chance at getting an injury. This includes Kayvon Thibodeaux, Mykael Wright and Devon Williams. Offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is leaving for a head coaching position at Akron and linebackers coach Ken Wilson will be taking the head job at Nevada. Interim coach Byron Mcclendon says regardless of what has transpired the ball will be teed up and the team as it is will fight for the win. The same situation has occurred with the Duck’s opponent Oklahoma with 4 defensive starters opting out and their head coach, Lincoln Riley stepped away to take the head coaching job at USC. The Alamo bowl is set in San Antonio Texas for December 29th.
