Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Siuslaw wrestler Mason Buss as this week’s athlete of the week. After disposing of 3 consecutive opponents in the 160 pound weight class Buss entered the Championship round where he was defeated by Carson Henderson finishing in second place in the state for the Vikings.
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Dayne Muller for finishing in 4th place in the state tournament on Saturday winning 3 of 5 matches
Beavers In Another Overtime Battle
For the second time in 3 games the Oregon State Beavers found themselves in an overtime situation. this time with the Washington State Cougars. A foul shot by the Cougar’s Tyrell Roberts tied the game. Roberts had the chance to put the Cougars in the lead but missed the second free throw. The Beavers missed a last second 3-pointer by Dashawn Davis and the game went into overtime. The Cougars were up by 8 with 52 seconds left in OT and the Beavers could not close the gap falling 97-103.
