Vikings Overpower Harrisburg
Senior Viking football player Ian Sissel was dominant on both sides of the ball on Saturday as the Vikings dominated the Harrisburg Eagles 47-7. Sissel had three touchdowns on offense and added an interception and batted down a pass. Victor Ayala had an interception for a touchdown. Junior Cort Waggoner had success on defense grabbing the Harrisburg QB for a couple of sacks. The Vikings now head to Creswell on Friday.
Sailors Defeated
The Mapleton Sailors were defeated at the hands of Eddyville Charter on Friday falling 56-14. Keevyn Walker had a kick return for a touchdown in the loss.
Cross Country
Viking Harrier Sam Ulrich took 4th place in the men’s 5000 meter race on Friday with a time of 16:50.08 followed by Kyle Hughes in 7th, Jacob Blankenship in 11th and Dylan Jenson in 13th. the placement was enough to score the Vikings a win with 61 overall points. The Viking Girls also scored a first place finish with 63 points. Freshman Alison Hughes took the 9th spot for the Vikings with a time of 20.58.70 followed by corduroy Holbrook in 10th.
College Football
The Ducks outlasted the Cougars on Saturday with a 4th quarter interception for a touchdown to extend their lead to 10 with 1:01 remaining. Washington answered with a field goal with time running out for a 44-41 finish.
It was a close defensive game for the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday, but turnovers haunted the Beavers and QB chance Nolan threw 4 interceptions in the 17-14 loss.
Soccer Tonight
Siuslaw girls soccer will host La Pine this evening beginning at 4:30 with boys soccer to follow at 6:30.
