Viking Football

The Siuslaw Viking improved to 5-2 on the season after defeating the North Marion Huskies on Friday night on the road. The Vikings pulled out all the stops in the 54-12 win.

Sailor Football

Mapleton got their second win of the season in 6 man football.  The Sailors defeated Crow 39-31.  Crow was handicapped in the loss with only 4 players at times available in the game.  The Sailors finish out their season on Saturday against Triangle Lake.

Viking Volleyball

Viking Volleyball was at Marshfield on Saturday for a tournament  the Vikings had two matches, the first match totals were not available, but the Vikings lost to Marist Catholic in the second game 0-2.

Cross Country

On Friday Viking Cross Country competed in the Rose City run and Viking freshman runner Alison Hughes led the Vikings to a second place finish by finishing in 6th place in a field of 102 runners.  Close behind Hughes was junior Corduroy Holbrook who finished in 10th place and sophomore Maya Wells finished in 19th.

The Viking boys scored a first place finish due to the efforts of senior Sam Ulrich who finished in second place with a time of 16:37.40.  Kyle Hughes finished in 5th place with a time of 17:08.60. Senior Jacob Blankenship finished in 20th. and Dylan Jensen finished in 23rd.

Beavers Win

The Oregon State Beavers came out victors in Saturday’s matchup against the Washington State Cougars.  The Beavers took the lead in the first quarter scoring on a 1 yard touchdown run by Jack Colletto.  Colletto would have a second touchdown in the fourth to seal the victory.  The Beavers are not 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Pac 12.

Viking Soccer

Viking Soccer  takes the field this afternoon with the boys heading to Elmira and the girls heading to La Pine

The Oregon Ducks had a bye week.
