The Siuslaw Vikings were stunned at home last night as the basketball season nears its end.  The Creswell boys defeated the Vikings 50-28 and the Siuslaw Girls fell 57-13.  There are two games left for the Vikings, Friday at Elmira and then home on Monday against Pleasant Hill.

The Mapleton Sailors kept their hopes up for a post season run at the state championship in 1A basketball both for the boys and the girls.  The Mapleton girls played 4 on 5 basketball after freshman Averie Walker fouled out with a minute left in the first half.  Only 5 girls suited up for the game.  But the girls maintained their lead and even extended it in the second half defeating Siletz Valley 30-21.  The Mapleton Boys improved to 7-6 on the season  junior Keevyn Walker scored 21 points in the 43-36 win.  The sailors have one game remaining on the season against Alsea tomorrow.
