Three Rivers Sandblasters

The American Legion Sandblasters took on Ole 180 on Friday in a double header at Jiggs Dodson Field.  In game one the Sandblasters had a difficult time scoring runs while Ole 180’s bats were ringing.  Ethan Halpin had a good run on the mound for the sandblasters though he gave up 4 runs over 5 innings, he also struck out 5. Ole 180 had an 8 run seventh inning. Joel Sissel led the Sandblasters going 2 for 3 from the plate.

Game two for the Sandblasters was just as tough giving up 18 runs and scoring none.  The sandblasters play again today at Jiggs Dodson.  Another double header, this one against the Pepsi Bottle Caps.

Ems and Canadians

The Eugene Emeralds still remain 3.5 games behind the Vancouver Canadians after finishing up a 6 game series.  The Ems and Canadians split the series 3 games apiece.  Last night the Ems were donned in their Exploding Whale uniforms and eeked out a win coming from behind scoring 5 runs over the 6th and 7th inning to take the game 6-4.
