Siuslaw Football
Siuslaw football will begin it’s 2023 season with a pair on non-league games. The first game of the season will be on a Thursday, August 31st against Newport followed by Kennedy on September 8th. The first home game will be against La Pine on Friday September 15th.
Hall of Fame
The 2023 inductees into the Siuslaw High School Hall of Fame has been announced. The list is long and includes Eric Daniel the 1999 state runner up in the Pole Vault who was #3 all time clearing 14’10” and was a cross country and basketball standout. Joseph Dotson 2014 four sport star in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. Ben Voogd also appears in the list. He had been considered for inclusion in past Hall of Fame lists, but had been unable to attend the ceremonies.
Inductees:
Eric Daniel, 1999. 1999 State Runner-up in PV, #3 all-time. 14-10. Also a standout in XC and Basketball.
Joseph Dotson, 2014, four sport star. Football, Basketball basebakll and Track and Field. state champiuon and school record holder in the 300 IH. Seven-time all-american in the multis in college at SOU
Don Hunt, 1971. Literally wrote the boojk on Siuslaw Football (The History of Siuslaw HighSchool Football: A Tradition of Excellence), was a two sport standout in Football and Basketball.
Shelbey McClellan, First team all-state in Volleyball, arguably the hardest hitter in Siuslaw Volleyball history, and an all-stater in track and field. She was a league champion in the shot put and and had to throw the shot with her left hand due to a right shoulder injury.
Allen McMullen, 1973. Stabndout on the grid iron. One of the best runninbg backs in school history.
Brandon Lockman, 1999 State Champion PV, #3 all-time. 14-10. Beat Eric Daniel in a jump-off to win. Also a standout in Football and Basketball.
Alexis Reavis, 2010. State SP champion in 2010. #2 in school history in the SP, 3rd in the DT, 4th in the JT8th in the HJ. Also a four-year starter in basketball.
Josh Thomas-Dotson, 2003, Four sport star in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track and Field. Played football at Oregon and minor league baseball.
Ben Voogd, 2005. Ben graduated from Siuslw as one of the most successful basketball pklyers in Oregon history. Went to LSU after HS and played in the final Four.
Brad Wilson, 1976, one of the best football players in Siuslaw History.
