Pac-12 Shake-up; Ems Even Score

Pac-12 Shake-up

A mass exodus has led to a seismic shift in the Pac-12 Conference. The “Conference of Champions” suffered what could be crushing blows after five schools announced defections from the league within hours of each other. Oregon and Washington were the first to go, heading to the Big Ten. Arizona, Arizona State and Utah then announced plans to leave for the Big 12. The losses leave the Pac-12 with four schools and an uncertain future. The conference that has won more national championships than any other may be left with its storied history and nothing else.

Last week before the news broke OSU head football coach Jonathan Smith was asked about rumors and concerns facing the team should the Pac-12 suffer such a break up.

“They’re following it and watching it.  We’ll talk about it as we go through camp.  I think it’s actually going to be something of a motivation that they know what we’ve got right in front of us and that’s what we want anyways.”

For now the only sure thing is the upcoming season schedule.

Ems Even Score

After a Friday night 4-3 loss the Eugene Emeralds bounced back on Saturday with a 9-1 drubbing of the Tri-City Dust Devils.  The Ems followed it up with a 2-0 win last night to finish the series 3-3.  The ems will be at home for 6 games beginning tomorrow night against the Everett Aqua Sox.
