Volleyball Win For Viks

Siuslaw Viking Volleyball had a battle against Sutherlin last night but the team held tough and drew out the match to 5 sets with a Victory.  25-11, 23-25, 25-14, 19-25, 16-14. Rhianna Lane had 13 kills and 9 blocks, Jolee Erickson added 8 kills and Kimberly Martinez-Munoz added 6.  Meika Shappell had 24 perfect passes and 5 serving aces.

The Mapleton Sailors were scheduled for a match against Riddle, but that was cancelled.

Soccer Win 1-0

The Viking/Sailor Boys Soccer team played last night against Junction City Harrisburg they were victorious 1-0.  Siuslaw controlled the ball for most of the game and had 20 shots on goal – 11 of them in the first half.  Derrick Van Duch and Terrance Masterman shared duties in the net.  Masterman had 12 saves in the second half.

High School Football Kicks Off

Tonight the Viking Football team will be in Newport for a non-league game.  The game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 6:45 and can also be streamed on the Coast Radio Facebook page.

College Football

The Oregon Ducks take the Field tomorrow at home against Portland State.  Pregame on KCST will be at 10:30 Kickoff at Noon.

The Oregon State Beavers will be at San Jose State on Sunday with a pregame on KCFM beginning at 11:30.

Ems Win

The Eugene Emeralds are up 2 games to 1 after last night’s 6-1 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils. The series continues tonight from PK Park
