Pilots Rout Ducks

The Oregon Ducks were stymied by Portland yesterday on the mound.  The Pilots had 15 runs on 16 hits and held the Ducks to 5 runs on 8 hits. The Ducks open a three-game series against Cal on Friday.

Oregon State will face Utah on Friday for a three-game series that will be broadcast on KCFM.

Pac-12 Tourney

Today at 2 pm the Oregon State Beavers will try to hold on to post season play as they face UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament.  The Beavers have had a tough time this season against the Bruins, but hope to live to face Oregon on Thursday.

Track and Field Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are being sought to help with the annual Siuslaw Icebreaker Track and Field Meet at Siuslaw High School. It takes place next Thursday, March 21st at Hans Petersen Field behind Siuslaw Middle School.  Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson is asking prospective volunteers to contact him by email at the address that accompanies this story on the Coast Radio website.

Siuslaw Baseball and Softball and Golf

Boy’s baseball is scheduled for this afternoon.  The Vikings will face Sutherlin beginning at 4pm with a 3:45 pregame on KCST.  The Viking girl’s softball team was slated to travel to Sutherlin today but field conditions there were unfavorable.  Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson says the plan is to have Sutherlin come here today. Today is also the beginning of Siuslaw Golf. The boys hit the links for the Siuslaw Invitational this morning.
